Katherine F. Woodard

Biography

A native of Ormond Beach and graduate of Seabreeze High School, Katherine F. Woodard attended Mercer University, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science(1976) and a Masters of Education(1978). Mrs. Woodard attended the University of Central Georgia where she earned a Specialist in Gifted Education (1980). After teaching for several years, Mrs. Woodard entered Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law earning her Juris Doctorate in 1987.

Practicing law in Ormond Beach and the Greater Daytona Beach Area since 1987, Mrs. Woodard’s family law practice covers the many complex areas of marital and family law. She has been successful in thousands of family law cases throughout Volusia, Flagler, Orange and Seminole counties. Mrs. Woodard is a longstanding member of the Family Law Section.

As a former teacher with a Masters Degree and Specialist in Early Childhood Education, Katherine has an intimate, firsthand knowledge of the effects divorce and family law disputes have on children and families. For almost 30 years, Katherine has represented divorce and family law clients and their children with the utmost consideration for their welfare. Mrs. Woodard was hired to represent victims of domestic violence in Flagler and Volusia Counties by the Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Mrs. Woodard became one of the first attorneys in Volusia County to become a certified mediator. All of the foregoing giving her valuable experience for exceptional advocacy in family law cases of all kinds.

As a former prosecutor and public defender, Katherine understands the criminal justice system from both perspectives. As an assistant public defender, Mrs. Woodard was the initiate public defender to provide in-take consultations to inmates at the Volusia County Branch Jail. Subsequently, Mrs. Woodard has successfully represented thousands of criminal cases throughout Volusia, Flagler, Seminole and Orange counties. With 30 years experience in criminal law, Mrs. Woodard’s criminal practice includes DUI Defense, misdemeanor and felony charge defense. A member of the Criminal Defense Section, she is a seasoned defense attorney who successfully advocates diligently for her clients.

Mrs. Woodard is proud to be a member of Ormond Beach/Daytona Beach area. She has served on the Vestry Board of St. James Church; St. James School Board; The Domestic Violence Board; she is a past member of the Junior League and Daytona Beach Rotary Club.
